How to Reduce Extra Inches Before Your Wedding Day

July 26, 2010 Default No Comments

Every bride and groom-to-be wants to look great on their wedding day.  It is going to be a memorable day, after all – with guests to witness it and photographers to capture all the beautiful decors, the exquisite cake, the excited well-wishers, the cute wedding favors, and, well, almost every angle of the wedding couple. This thought, however, increases the pressure of desiring to trim down the extra pounds that are building up to become your first set of love handles!

If you’re considering getting rid of those extra inches before you tie the knot, the first ideal thing you have to do is visit your doctor.  Before getting into any diet or exercise regimen, it’s always safer to see your physician first.  He or she will be in a position to tell you exactly how overweight you are (if you’re, indeed, overweight), check your heart and lungs, and let you find out your overall physical condition.  He or she will also most likely be able to suggest a suitable diet, or send you to a licensed dietician.

If you have no medical issues, then here are some pointers on how to reduce some weight:

·Do not skip meals.  Instead, eat a balanced meal 5 or 6 times a day – in smaller portions.  By doing this, you will acquire the nutrients your body needs but you will be able to burn the food faster.

·Avoid junk food and fast foods.  Instead, eat healthy snacks (like mixed dried fruits or nuts) with you anywhere and everywhere you go.  This will help you prevent unnecessary cravings and unhealthy in-between snacks.   In fact, you might want to share your favorite carry-along healthy snack as edible wedding favors for your guests.

·Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables.  Fill yourself up with foods high in vitamins and minerals but low in fats and sugar.  High-fiber foods boost digestion, maximize metabolism, and give a feeling of fullness.

·Drink water.  Plenty of water.  Stay away from carbonated drinks and sweetened beverages.

·Be active.  Exercise not only helps tone down the body, it also relieves stress.  But exercise is not limited to going to gym – you can take more walks, go swimming, ride your bike, etc.

What it actually takes to lose those excess fat is a balanced diet, a conscious effort, and a lot of discipline.  You may also incorporate tea or herbal tea into your diet, which would likewise be nice as tea wedding favors for your guests. Whatever you do, remember you only get married once. Cherish every moment!
